TAHIAD CHOWDHURY

B. Arch (MIST)

Tahiad Chowdhury is a dedicated and accomplished architect and academic, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST). Alongside her academic role, she is a practicing architect at Arcane Architects Ltd. in Dhaka.

Tahiad is pursuing a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) at the prestigious Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), where she is deepening her expertise in the field. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) from MIST, reflecting her strong academic foundation.

Her professional experience includes her current lecturing position at MIST, which she has held since April 2022, and her role as an architect at Arcane Architects Ltd. since September 2022. Tahiad also served as a lecturer at the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) from August 2020 to April 2022, contributing significantly to the institution's architectural projects.

Tahiad has been involved in notable re-designing and model-making projects, such as the Jolshiri Abashon (Army Officers Housing Scheme) in Dhaka, the Bangladesh Ordnance Factories (BOF) in Gazipur, and the master plan of DSCSC Mirpur Cantonment in Dhaka. Additionally, she has undertaken various renovation and design projects at the BMA, including the renovation of the Ladies’ Club and Gym Facilities, the GC Office, the design of the Officer’s Mess Swimming Pool, and the landscape design of the 1200 Cadet Battalion.

Her professional journey began as an intern architect at J.A Architects (JAA) from December 2018 to January 2019. Tahiad has also actively participated in numerous workshops and seminars, enhancing her skills and knowledge in areas such as morphogenetic architecture, building energy simulations, architectural model making, and earthquake-resilient building design.

Tahiad is proficient in a range of software tools essential for modern architecture, including Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD, Corel Draw, Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe Lightroom, and SketchUp. Her diverse skill set and extensive experience make her a valuable asset to both the academic and professional architectural communities.

ADEEBA AHSAN AMINA

B. Arch (Brac University), IAB: MIAB: AA-532

Adeeba Ahsan Amina completed their B.Arch graduation from BRAC University in 2016 and is currently pursuing an M.Arch from BUET. After graduation, [Name] worked at a consultancy firm for a few years to gain experience. Eventually, they co-founded Studio1.O, a company specializing in building design solutions, exterior/interior design, and communal practice alongside regular practice. Studio1.O focuses on self-development and work quality by promoting active participation in fieldwork and research. The company values dexterity, team participation, adaptability, continuous learning, and initiative decision-making skills.

UMME JARIN TASNIA

B. Arch (BUET), IAB: MIAB: AT-140

Umme Jarin Tasnia is a skilled architect with a robust background in both architectural design and project management. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the prestigious Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), where she graduated with honors in 2018. Tasnia has demonstrated her expertise through a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from residential and commercial buildings to renovations and interior designs. Presently serving as Principal Architect at Spacetale.

Her professional journey began as a Junior Architect at Indigenous, where she contributed to significant projects such as the Masco Concept Knitting factory, Fortis downtown resort, and the IDCOL Green Building Competition. Her ability to handle complex projects led to her promotion as an Associate Architect at Drishik and Associates. Here, she worked on notable projects including the renovation of the historic Lalbagh Shahi Mosque and the design of the Badal Residence in Chittagong.

In her most recent role as an In-house Architect for the Barcode Restaurant Group, Tasnia showcased her versatility by leading multiple projects such as Barcode Food Junction, Omerta, Bir chattala, and Barcode Sweets, blending functionality with aesthetic appeal.

Tasnia's commitment to continuous learning is evident from her certifications in Human-Centered Design, Initiating and Planning Projects, and Leadership and Emotional Intelligence from esteemed institutions like the University of California and the Indian School of Business. She is proficient in various design and technology tools including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, and Photoshop, Illustrator which enhance her ability to bring innovative architectural concepts to life.

An Associate Member of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), Tasnia continues to advance her career with a dedication to creating sustainable and resilient designs. Her voluntary work includes preparing exhibitions for renowned architects and coaching aspiring architecture students, demonstrating her commitment to the growth and development of the architectural community in Bangladesh.

As an Architect at Spacetale, she designed a diverse portfolio of projects across Bangladesh, including the Nasir Residence, BM Container Depot Office, Azadi House, Fortune Sports Complex, Rokon Residence, Rana Motors Head Office, and Paharika Residence. Each project reflects a unique collaboration with the client, translating their vision into a successful built environment.
